I've written in the past about my new obsession with SEO and how making changes to my main photography site has made a huge difference in my ranking? Well, that was all thanks to changes I made after reading The Photographer's SEO Book.
What I didn't realize is that I couldn't just follow the same advice for my blog and see the same results. And actually, I may have unknowingly hurting my blog rank by not understanding how it is treated differently from my main site. While most of my rank was going up on there too...it was at a much slower rate. And I was potentially taking a little SEO love away from my main site in the meantime.
Zach Prez (also a sponsor for Photographer's Kick Start) was kind enough to send me over a copy to review pre-release. I was fascinated as I read through the ebook - and terrified as I thought of all my mistakes in possibly over-using my keywords! Yikes! While the book focuses on using Wordpress as your blog platform, I currently use Typepad for this and a few other of my blogs and I know that the same techniques can be used on them as well - just maybe not so easily. I have been experimenting with Wordpress though recently and I can tell you, I'm totally a convert, but that is another blog post in the making!
If you want to get your own copy of the Blog SEO Zen book, head over and buy it for a launch price of $39. The price goes up on June 30th so don't delay. If you are not ready to buy Zach also has a free eclass you can sign up for.
